I began my movement journey at a young age, in weekly ballet, tap and modern dance classes in Bedfordshire.
This soon turned into a love of contemporary dance, where I went on to train and gain a BA (hons) in Dance from the University of Lincoln. Here I was first exposed to yoga through my dance tutors, where it was used for strength and flexibility training. Post-university, I worked freelance performing and teaching dance, in and around London and the home counties.
Living in London, I fell into marketing, and got wrapped up in the hustle of city living. Here, my movement practice disappeared, and in a sense, I also lost myself. The challenges of the grind, made me loose sight of my unique and divine gifts, and I started to search for acceptance and love from external and often unhealthy habits.
I came back to yoga, and in reality, it saved me. I was no longer lost, as I rediscovered my body that is my soul’s home. Connecting back into a movement practice I rediscovered this body and spirit and started to value myself again. I completed my yoga teacher training in 2018 and haven’t looked back.
I use the tool of yoga (in its many forms), to keep me focussed, grounded, mindful to find some peace in the everyday. So I can keep coming home to myself, time after time, when things get tough.
Since becoming a mother in 2023, I returned to that feeling of being lost again, as my regular practice disappeared. What followed was overwhelm and anxiety of postpartum life. It was not until I carved out the time to connect to myself again that I felt the overwhelm quieten. I’m on a mission to help mums through movement and mindfulness and provide both physical and emotional support to those who need it.
